Reviews on the Real: DC’s Burden’s Landing Bring Dreamy, Layered Vibes With New Releases

You’ll hear punk energy and hooks you can’t ignore!

Burden’s Landing, an alt-rock band out of DC, is back with two new singles this month, “Blank Page” and “Hallucination”. Both are solid tracks that deserve your listening attention now. No, seriously, they do. How have I just now discovered this band? They’re really awesome, and I can’t wait to catch them live one day, but for now, I’ll enjoy their music with my favorite pair of pink headphones firmly on my ears.

Burden’s Landing only started up in 2023, but they’ve already been making noise all over the DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania music scenes with their wild live shows and a sound that’s all over the map. You’ll hear punk energy, dreamy shoegaze, and hooks you can’t get out of your head.

The band first showed up in 2024 with their DIY EP, Could This Be a Portal? —a wild mix of grunge, shoegaze, indie rock, and punk that really set the tone for what they’re all about. That EP was big and ambitious, and since then, they’ve basically become a regular at clubs, DIY spots, and even record stores all over DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania—pretty much anywhere that’ll let them turn things up loud.

Let’s dive into these new tracks, shall we?

Blank Page

'Blank Page' kicks off with a thick, pulsing bassline and dreamy shoegaze vibes, layered under smooth vocals that pretty much melt you right into the groove. Then the tempo shifts, the drums hit hard, and honestly, this track just has everything. It’s all heart, all soul, no gimmicks—just pure music. If you’re into big, rich sounds, this one’s definitely up your alley.

Hallucination

'Hallucination' jumps right in with a steady punk groove and super-thick guitar and bass sounds. The vocals totally nail the vibe, and the energy just keeps building—this song never really lets you catch your breath. If you’re into punk, seriously, give this one a listen.

Burden’s Landing’s new EP is coming out later this week, so keep an eye out—but in the meantime, go stream all their stuff wherever you listen to music. You can thank us later.
