I’m a Decadent is an album focused on personal storytelling and narrative.
Sometimes a random e-mail will drop into my inbox, only for me to discover new music that really vibes with me. The Kyle December is an independent artist from Italy with a passion for alternative rock. Kyle has made a name for himself in Italy’s indie music scene and has carved out a spot in the alternative world by keeping things real and consistently true to himself. His music does not seem to copy the formulaic nonsense that has become so much of the music industry, and it’s just really good.
I’m a newbie to Kyle’s music, but he kicked off his discography in 2022 with Lo-Fi Demo EP, which is packed with punk and noise rock vibes. He followed it up in 2023 with “Life of Crime,” a cover of The Weirdos’ classic. In 2024, he dropped two records: the first was The Rope Springs Eternal, his full-length debut that pushed his sound further while staying true to his roots. A few months later came Realism Through the Lens, taking things in a more introspective direction and really defining his style. Then in 2025, he released “Trendsetters,” adding another cool chapter to his ever-changing musical story.
Kyle's latest release, I’m A Decadent, dropped on July 3, 2026. This album has a stripped-back, acoustic vibe and leans into folk-rock, with a stronger focus on personal storytelling and narrative. Self-produced and packed with seven tracks, I'm A Decadent is seventeen minutes of heart-provoking tunes that scream emotion and realism. While he keeps his signature songwriting style and the unique vibe from his earlier releases, this new album shifts away from his old alternative rock sound and leans into a more natural, intimate feel, rooted in folk and acoustic rock. This entire album has such a rich, full sound that you cannot skip any tracks.
Acoustic musicians are keeping the soul of music alive by focusing on the song itself rather than on all the extras. They remind us that a great melody and a meaningful story can have a far-reaching connection that songs full of overproduction cannot match. There’s something different about hearing someone pick up a guitar and sing with nothing but raw talent and heart, with no flashy effects. It's just real.
